Jazz comments on Customer Service and Aircraft Services division's tentative agreement

HALIFAX, Dec. 3 /CNW/ - Jazz Air LP announced today that it has reached a tentative labour contract with the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Local 2002.

On November 13, 2009 the CAW had advised that the tentative agreement which was reached on October 27, 2009 with its Customer Service Agents and Aircraft Services employees resulted in a 56% no vote. In view of this result, Jazz and the CAW held discussions with a federal-appointed mediations officer and agreed on a revised tentative agreement.

The agreement is subject to a ratification vote by approximately 950 union members employed at Jazz. Further details of the agreement will not be released pending ratification.

On September 12, the agreement reached with Jazz's Technical Services (Maintenance and Engineering) division was ratified. Jazz Technical Services employees are also represented by the CAW.

Jazz is the second largest airline in Canada based on fleet size, operating approximately 775 flights daily to 82 destinations in Canada and the United States.
